The Cash Applicator will be responsible for receiving, posting and applying deposits for the Franchise Credit department into the PeopleSoft Accounts Receivable System to ensure timely and accurate recording and closing of the cash function. The monthly volume handled by two (2) applicators is approximately 6,100 checks per month totaling approximately $170 million (2014 numbers).

What will I be doing?

The Cash Applicator will be responsible for receiving, posting and applying deposits for the Franchise Credit department into the PeopleSoft Accounts Receivable System to ensure timely and accurate recording and closing of the cash function.

Other key priorities are listed below:

Prepare deposits received from the bank for processing

Organize support and check copies and look up hotel location numbers

Post deposits by batch and check into the Accounts Receivable system and apply all checks to appropriate open invoices, or post credit directly to a general ledger account as identified

Process credit memos for all duplicate payments and overpayments

Provide documentation to Coordinators of any payment variances to facilitate the collection process as needed

Distribute copies of any pertinent correspondence received with the deposit backup to appropriate individuals

Research and copy any deposit items upon request for all internal customers requiring such

Produce, validate, and balance monthly activity deposit reports for Systems Coordinator

Assist Coordinators with monthly e-mail distribution of equipment and IT invoices, as well as sending new hotels opening documents

High School Degree/GED

A minimum of two (2) years of professional experience

A minimum of two (2) years of general administrative experience in an accounting or credit related environment

Experience working with Excel

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

Completion of some college courses

A minimum of four (4) years of professional experience

A minimum of one (1) year of experience using PeopleSoft
