DUTIES INCLUDE BUT
ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
·
Maintains and organizes supplies appropriately.
·
Assures high technical quality of diagnostic
scans.
·
Performs all quality control procedures prior to
performing clinical procedures and regularly inspects equipment.
·
Utilizes proper body mechanics.
·
Participates in staff
orientation, training and education programs to ensure the effective use of
resources and that sufficient training programs are provided to meet the needs
of staff and to ensure the competency of all employees.
·
Assists Manager with
interview of potential surgical technicians for hire
·
Provides input for the
annual budget and long-term capital expenditures for the department.
·
Maintains specialty
service with adequate supplies and acts as resource to other staff members
regarding that service.
·
Directs and supports
other staff members in meeting the expectations of quality patient care and
professional behavior in a timely manner.
·
Establishes quality
improvement, fiscal, productivity, and patient satisfaction goals and
objectives in conjunction with upper management.
·
Meets established
goals and objectives
·
Concurrently monitors
resource utilization, including payroll, supplies, and expenses.
·
Meets established
goals and objectives.
·
Organizes the
functions of the department, through the appropriate assignment of
responsibilities, delegation of authority, and overall direction of work - flow
process
·
Fosters open
communication by offering, encouraging, and accepting suggestions from staff
regarding department operations.
·
Communicates with
Director, medical staff, employees, and other departments to coordinate
efforts, meet special needs, and address problems or concerns.
·
Ensures department
compliance to JCAHO, and all applicable governmental agencies (city, state and
federal).
·
Assures adequate
levels of supplies are on hand to perform procedures.
·
Monitors and controls
department productivity.
·
Assumes 24-hour
accountability for department activities.
·
Directs and supports
other staff members in meeting the expectations of quality patient care and
professional behavior in a timely manner.
·
Assures that timely
and accurate communication of patient results is done without compromising
security and confidentiality.
·
Assures patient care
needs are met as appropriate.
·
Assures accurate information, documentation, and
charging.
·
Provides constructive
feedback and updates to the department supervisor to insure overall operations
run smoothly and consistently with hospital wide objectives.
·
Adheres to policies
that are implemented to prevent or reduce the risks to patients, employees, and
visitors.
·
Practice and adhere to the “Code of Conduct”
philosophy and “ Mission
and Value Statement”
·

EXPERIENCE
· 2 to 4 years experience
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE – BLS Certification
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS -
Requires prolonged standing and walking.
Requires lifting of heavy objects up to 100 lbs. in weight maximum with
frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual
dexterity. Requires normal range of
hearing and eyesight. Working Conditions
are 75% or more inside.
OSHA CATEGORY
– The normal work routine does involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or
tissues.
