The Field Operations Manager position will be responsible for the management and administration of general business operations of an assigned geographic territory for the Credit Balance business unit. This position provides strategic leadership as well as the day to day management of a team of Recovery Analysts in the assigned territory. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining provider partnerships at multiple levels, establishing relationships with leadership internal and external to the organization, and creating and implementing strategy focused on achieving/exceeding financial and non-financial results. In addition, the Field Operations Manager is responsible for a remote team of professionals that includes continued employee development and increasing employee engagement levels. As a member of the Credit Balance Field leadership team, the Field Operations Manager will also be a liaison to the National Director in improving overall client satisfaction by understanding and anticipating customer expectations and developing strategies and operational plans to address current and future business needs.   


   

Position will manage the assigned territory of Indiana and Cincinnati, OH. There will be 50% travel in the regional market, working onsite at clients' offices, with the other small percent of time being when the employee would work from home doing administrative work.    


   

Primary Responsibilities:  



  • Meets/exceeds provider expectations and goals relating to Optum's work product and relationship standards  


  • Day to day management of a team of on-site account analysts providing leadership, coaching and next level support  


  • Provides leadership to and is accountable for the meeting/exceeding production results for the assigned territory  


  • Must be able to effectively manage a remote staff based at customer locations  


  • Responsible for the team's achievement of production goals as well as delivery of quality work product and building effective provider relationships throughout the assigned team  



  • Develops, translates and executes strategies or functions/operations into objectives for the assigned territory  


  • Responsible for the talent management process throughout territory with a focus on development of key performers, recruitment, succession planning and performance management  



  • Provides ongoing technical and relationship coaching and training to team to ensure performance and developmental goals are achieved and maintained  

  
 

Requirements



Required Qualifications:  



  • Bachelor's degree or HS Diploma/GED with equivalent relevant business experience  


  • 3+ years of direct report management  


  • 3+ years of client management and/or account management experience  


  • Strong financial acumen and ability to establish aggressive goals and deliver results  


  • Able to successfully manage a P&L  


  • Strong communication skills; able to effectively communicate to direct reports, Sr. Leadership and matrix partners on a consistent basis  


  • Ability to work independently in remote environment  


  • Proven ability to build and maintain customer relationships through communication, collaboration and efficiency  


  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills  


  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities at the same time  


  • Willingness to take calculated risk  


  • Anticipates and drives change through the organization, equipping staff to adapt quickly  


  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
