Plumber

Position is contingent upon award of the project

Essential Responsibilities:

Installs, maintains, and repairs pipe systems, fixtures, and appurtenances associated with water, natural gas, air, sewage, and industrial waste systems and to perform the full range of plumbing duties.

Independently performs construction and maintenance of plumbing systems.

Lays out, constructs, installs, rebuilds, maintains, repairs, adjusts, modifies and tests plumbing systems including water, drain lines, lawn and fire sprinkler systems, etc.

Assists in the maintenance and repair of underground sewer and water systems.

Performs work in other classifications when incidental but necessary to accomplish work assignments.

Works in conformance with proper codes, sketches, specifications, blueprints, written and verbal instructions.

Performs minor insulation or insulation repairs, as required.

Performs routine plumbing, such as diagnosing, testing and repairing all types of plumbing lines and fixtures.

Diagnoses and repairs major plumbing breakdowns, which do not respond to routine maintenance.

May be subject to working with hazardous waste.

May operate equipment to perform cutting, burning, and soldering, as necessary, to accomplish work assignment.

Maintains logs, records, charts, etc., as required.

Maintain certification and/or licenses required by State or local authorities.

Performs preventative maintenance on plumbing systems as requires.

Performs all other position related duties as assigned or required.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Works inside and outside in various weather conditions to include extreme cold and heat.

Works around non-hazardous materials/waste lifting, stooping, crawling, bending, and carrying.

Heavy lifting up to 50 pounds on a daily basis.

Constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills.

Minimum Requirements:

A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent coupled with 3 years job-related experience; or equivalent education/experience combination.

Must possess an apprentice license or equivalent.

Must possess a valid driver's license.

Must be capable of operating heavy equipment.

Currently holds or ability to successfully obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph..

Preferred Qualifications:

Graduate from an accredited two-year technical mechanical institution or equivalent.

Journeyman’s license preferred
