Construction Material Technician

Aerotek is currently seeking a Construction Material Technicians.

The CMT will be responsible for going into the field or site and collecting samples of soil, concrete, etc. to make sure that the ground is suitable to build on. Their daily tasks will consist of driving to different job sites, collecting samples to be analyzed, entering reports into their laptop (company provided), and then moving to the next job. They may be required to pick up concrete filled cyclinders or push wheelbarrow loads of concrete.

They will work hand in hand with a Senior Technician for up to 4 weeks while they learn the process and procedures. They will be expected to get their concrete and nuclear gage certifications if they do not already have them within the first month.

MUST HAVE:
*Previous experience in a construction, landscaping, outdoors type of environment.
*Ability to lift/ push 50 pounds or more.
*Ability to do basic math and calculations in the field.
*Have a current and valid drivers license.
*Knowledge of laptop use.
*Must have a smart phone with capability of being used as a mobile hot spot. (Will be reimbursed.)

Prefer:
*Previous construction material testing experience.
*Concrete, soil, asphalt, steel certifications.

DQ's:
*No experience working in a field tech or construction type role.
*No desire to work in a construction related environment.
