Junior Electrical Engineer-

EASi is looking to hire a Substation Engineer I to work onsite at Tucson Electric Power(client) under EASi supervision to participate in an advanced engineering rotational program.

Easi is HQ'd in Troy Michigan and has a designated work center at a Tucson Electric Power facility in Tucson AZ.

The engineer will work with Subject Matter Expert Engineers and Engineer I-IV or Principle Engineers to assist in the development of One line Diagrams, Project Scopes, cost estimates and material specifications with the assistance of experienced engineers to support the project workload of TEP.

The Engineer I will assist in the review of substation construction drawings and electrical arrangements plan reviews, grounding, cable and conduit drawings.


Engineer I will make recommendations for necessary changes with assistance of experienced engineers to comply with scope and standards including TEP, EASi IEE, NERC, FERC etc. Assist engineering team in the study of lightning protection and grounding protection equipment requirements.


Engineer I will assist in the ordering of materials for retrofit or new build projects as assigned.
Minimal Travel 10% approx to field Stations and sites for review will be required.

Requirements:

Zero to two years' experience in utilities working with protection and controls
Zero to two years' experience in electrical engineering projects
Zero to two years' experience in setting relays and designing one lines
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering BSEE from ABET accredited program
Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering MSEE from ABET accredited program may be considered as experience.
An EIT License is desirable but not required.

Must be willing to relocate to Tucson. Strong written and verbal communication skills. demonstrate the ability to perform load calculations, design and material calculations and specializations and understand and implement IEE, TEP, NERC FERC and other standards and regulations related to utility engineering and protection is necessary. TEP may elect to hire engineers from the program.*
