Senior Project Managers will determine time frames, funding needs, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, allotment of resources to various phases of projects and lead others in the organization to make meaningful process improvements. Developing business plans and cost benefit analysis for assessment by Regional/Senior Leadership is required.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Define, manage and implement strategic system migration and regulatory projects in a timely and cost-effective manner meeting Optum and UHC defined timelines and objectives

  • Projects support Optum Behavioral Solutions with general focus on Operations (Clinical, Network, Group/Benefit/Eligibility, Finance, etc.)

  • High degree of interaction within the Optum Shared Services and UnitedHealthcare business & integration teams

  • Provide subject matter expertise in areas including project management, project scope definition, cost/benefit analysis, requirement identification and definition, risk identification, resource/team identification and allocation, and overall meeting facilitation

  • Track status of project to include timelines and milestones and generate both team-level and executive-level communication materials

Requirements

Required Qualifications:



  • BA/BS degree or related field and/or equivalent education and experience

  • Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint required

  • 2+ years of healthcare experience, preferably in insurance

  • Preference given to experience with system migrations

  • Must be a self-directing leader

  • Critical thinking ability

  • Broad knowledge of system and technology alternatives

  • Minimum of at least 8 years combination of experience in business analysis, operations, and  project management

  • Able to stay committed to long-term project goals

  • Able to direct project outcome based on long term business objectives

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely

  • Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities

 


 


Preferred Qualifications:



  • 2+ years of advanced project management and skills training

  • Experience with Visio, SharePoint, and MS Project

  • 3+ years of Business analysis and requirement definition experience
