The Sr. Human Resources Consultant (SHRC) partners with client groups, leaders, and employees to deliver impactful services and solutions in support of business goals through the effective integration, use and facilitation of HR programs and policies. The SHRC partners with local employees and regional leaders to understand and address root causes of HR issues, resolve employee relations issues, reduce organizational risk, ensure legal compliance and ensure a productive work environment.

Job Responsibilities Include:

Employee Relations
* Independently and proactively assess root causes of Employee Relations (ER)-related trends and recommend solutions. (Example: Analysis of Business Unit (BU) trends based on ERCM (Employee Relations Case Management System) stats.)
* Independently lead and respond to complex ER-related needs and determine solutions to mitigate organizational risk. (Example: Conduct and resolve complex investigations.)
* Provide consultation to leaders and employees related to complex performance management issues.
* Educate and provide consultation to leaders and employees on interpretation of, application of and compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
* Conduct termination/exit interviews. Analyze and identify trends and make recommendations for solutions based on identified needs.
* Provide consultation to other COEs (Centers of Excellence) on complex individual situations requiring legal guidance. (Example: Partner with Total Rewards COE to manage disability-related issues and requests for accommodation.)
* Assess need and partner with Talent Management Programs to develop content for compliance-related training. Facilitate/lead regional training focused on leader development and compliance ensuring goals are met. (Examples: Unlawful Harassment/Respect in the Workplace, Respect Advisors, Managing in the Gray, Taking the Lead.)
* Assist with response to external agency charges and employment-related litigation. (Example: US EEOC, Employment Tribunals)
* Represent the region in unemployment hearings and appeals (US), mediations (Canada) etc.


Organizational Partnering
* Partner with Business Partners (BPs)/EBPs to understand needs, trends and propose solutions and alternatives that support business objectives.
* Independently lead and support the development and implementation of complex solutions and/or large-scale cross cutting BU initiatives with regional or global impact. (Example: reorganizations).
* Lead small scale RIFs
* Provide consultation and problem resolution to individual leaders and employees. (Example: Compensation, Job Description development, position elimination)
* Act as SME on HR-related projects and initiatives.
* Utilize change management philosophy and tools to proactively support change management initiatives with client BUs.
* Provide Year-end process consultation to BU leaders.
* Provide expertise and insight into site and region population climate to support roll-out of global programs.
* Provide coverage for BP role as needed.

Organizational Effectiveness
* Independently provide consultation in the assessment and resolution of issues focused on increasing the effectiveness of employees, leaders and teams. (Succession planning, career counseling, training and development)
* Collaborate as needed with HR SME's to develop effective local/regional business solutions and deliver HR services.
* Facilitate team and group work as needed.


Administration & Operations
* Complete administrative duties as necessary.
* Approve LDA (Leader Direct Access) transactions and Change Status for lateral moves, terminations, promotions, multiple departmental moves, salary adjustments, etc.
* Work with partners within the region and outside the region to ensure needs and interests are met.
* Optimizes use of HR systems and process to support business need.
* Primary lead for a variety of legal matters depending on jurisdiction; e.g. severance accrual reporting, audits, SOX reporting, RFP responses, etc.
