Our Coffee Shop serves customers the freshest, most delicious blends of coffee and specialty drinks throughout the day. In this department, you'll work with a team to provide incredible customer service and share your knowledge and passion for the coffee industry. How do I make a difference?




Providing Incredible, Knowledge Based Customer Service
  • Build rapport with customers by remembering "regular" drink orders, making recommendations, and conversing with customers while preparing orders
  • Share your knowledge and passion for the industry to help educate others about different blends, seasonal drinks, and new products
  • Maintain product levels throughout the day by stocking, refilling and rotating product, and preparing fresh coffee and specialty beverages


Ensuring High Quality Products & Ingredients
  • Follow Wegman core recipes to prepare drink orders with speed, accuracy, and a consistent outcome in line with Wegmans Standards of quality
  • Merchandise products in innovative and eye-catching displays to increase customer awareness and promote sales in the department
  • Properly maintain and operate all equipment and machinery in the department, including but not limited to, espresso machines, blenders, commercial coffee brewers and coffee pots
  • Properly handle products, use equipment, keep accurate logs and follow sanitation practices in accordance with food and human safety guidelines, and Simplification 5S procedures

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Customer service experience, preferably in a food service, grocery or retail setting
  • Experience working in a coffee shop or kiosk environment


Work Environment
  • Work involves continuous interaction with customers and co-workers in a fast-paced environment
  • Typical motions include repetitive hand and arm movements, bending, reaching, frequent lifting, and sometimes reaching and lifting above shoulder height.
  • Responsible for moving and lifting an average of 1 – 10 pounds of product with a maximum weight lifted of 35 rarely
  • Basic tools & Equipment must be able to use coffee machines, cash register, u-cart, food service appliances
  • Will spend the majority of time on his or her feet and stand without a break for up to 4 hours
  • May be exposed to various allergens
