Purpose of the Position:

To supervise the total sales effort of the hotel, including participation in the annual planning effort, developing new accounts, maintaining existing accounts, supervision of sales related personnel, implementation of sales and marketing strategies so as to maximize profits of the hotel while maintaining customer satisfaction.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Assists the General Manager in the creation and update of the hotel-level Business Plan.

2. Develops and maintains departmental budgets.

3. Ensures sales activities meet or surpass profit plan.

4. Meets, and maintains rapport with, individuals, civic groups, and other contacts in order to produce group and/or convention business, to include: Room sales, F & B Sales, and Catering/Banquet.

5. Schedules conventions and business group activities at the hotel.

6. Maintains liaison with other hotel-level departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the sales office and prospective clients.

7. Enforces sales related policies and procedures.

8. Develops and maintains client files.

9. Develops and implements sales and marketing strategies.

10. Evaluates each sales representative’s particular skills and abilities and matches them with the needs of the hotel so as to achieve maximum sales results from the sales staff.

11. Manages in compliance with established company policies and procedures.

12. Manages in compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

13. Coordinates activities with other departments.

14. Conducts 15-20 Outside Sales Calls per week (including cold calls and scheduled visits)
