Logistics System Support Analyst

11:00am-8:00pm, Mon-Fri

Our distribution center team members are the backbone of this effort and collaborate with divisions across the company to implement new ways to serve our customers swiftly and efficiently. Our job is to make sure our systems are running smoothly and we are ready to help our distribution centers when they need our support.

To help us meet that commitment, Medline Industries, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Logistics System Support Analyst at our Mundelein, Illinois headquarters. The Logistics System Support Analyst is a highly motivated, customer service friendly individual who will help provide customers with technical guidance, identify and investigate re-occurring issues to develop long term solutions, and provide overall support to the Logistics Systems team.

Communication and analytical skills are a must as this position is the first responder to all of Medline’s warehouse branches and cross functional teams when they contact the support team with issues.

The primary responsibility of the Logistics System Support Analyst is to provide software and hardware support for Medline’s Logistics Systems which include: Warehouse Management, Transportation Management, and Labor Management Systems.

Challenging responsibilities:

  • Provide technical advice, guidance and informal training to users on hardware and applications.


  • Understand team and department service level agreements and follow team guidelines and procedures to manage open issues in an efficient manner to help ensure these service levels are achieved.


  • Document reported issues in system support log. Investigate re-occurring issues and develop solutions. The role is for a solution provider. The candidate should be problem solver and able to communicate verbally and in writing to describe the details of the problem and the proposed solution.


  • Escalate higher tier problems to appropriate team members or manager. Ensure that all escalated issues have been thoroughly researched and compared against the team’s knowledge database prior to escalation.


  • Utilize knowledge database and call tracking database to enhance quality and consistency of problem resolutions. Create and publish knowledge base articles to assist others in the diagnosis and resolution of specific issues. Consider business processes and system interaction when creating this documentation.


Contribute to organizational success:

  • Proactively communicate deliverable status to the team lead and project manager. When obstacles are presented, know when to escalate to stay on target with deliverable completion.


  • Inform team members and other departmental employees when obstacles are presented that need their involvement.


  • Ensure his/her areas of expertise are covered when absent. Work with team lead to proactively seek opportunities to improve skills and knowledge through training.


  • Maintain a professional demeanor at all times. Interact professionally and work productively with all levels of Medline employees. Follow Medline’s Code of Ethics and other corporate policies.

Qualification

Required Qualifications
  • Excellent problem solving ability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and manage multiple priorities
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience with SQL Queries
  • Proven ability to successfully complete deliverables on time or ahead of schedule
  • Must be able to work 11:00am-8:00pm Monday-Friday.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (concentration in Computer Science, Engineering, or Logistics preferred)
  • PL/SQL and UNIX Experience
  • Prior experience with warehouse or distribution center support
  • SAP or Catalyst WMS experience
  • Experience with a ticket tracking system
