Chief Financial Officer

SCOPE AND CHALLENGES
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer, and is a member of the senior leadership team. The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for instituting systems that provide effective internal management across the organization. The CFO will have direct responsibility for managing and providing strategic leadership and oversight to the administrative management team which includes: finance and budgeting, payroll, information technology, facilities and operations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Works with senior leadership team in developing strategic business plans and provides short and long term plans to ensure adequate resources to accomplish the strategic goals of organization.
* Develops annual budget and monitors projections; develops and utilizes predictive models and communicates regularly with Chief Executive Officer and senior leadership team about financial matters.
* Manages Accounting, Payroll and Payables staff.
* Develops and implements policy in accordance with GAAP and applicable Federal, State and Funding agency regulations. Responsible for maintaining Financial Policy and Procedures manual, as well as effective internal controls.
* Attends Board Meetings and presents financial reports and data as requested by Finance and Audit Committees.
* Oversees annual audit and is responsible for implementing changes and recommendations of audit team.
* Provides ongoing assessment of technology infrastructure and recommends cost effective solutions
* Establishes and promotes managerial climate that encourages teamwork and collegial collaboration
* Manages external vendor relationships
* Oversees the cash and investment management and all treasury functions
* Oversees the facilities management function and the oversight of three locations

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

* Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Business Administration/ Management, Non-Profit Management, or Organizational Development.
* Demonstrated managerial and administrative capabilities in finance, planning, administration, and operations with at least 10 years of experience.
* Broad based management experience at non-profit organization known for collegial relationships and commitment to greater good.
* Proven and successful track record in creating and skillfully managing, organizing, and overseeing staff of highly intelligent and diverse personalities.
* Demonstrated ability to follow GAAP accounting principles
* Strong knowledge of finance, data processing and operation of information systems
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Background clearance from the Department of Justice and a successful completion of a credit check

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

* Graduate degree in Accounting, Business Administration/Management or Non-Profit Management
* Certified Public Accountant strongly preferred
* Familiarity with M.I.P
