This position works on special projects involving large data sets related to financial reports and calculations.  Responsibilities include reporting financial data to executives and operational support, revenue and expense fluctuation analysis, involved account reconciliation, and journal preparation. This position reports to the Director of Accounting but also supports the Corporate Controller and Divisional Controller.   Job Duties   Assist with preparation of monthly financial data.  Includes loading feed data from external systems, prepare journals, maintain store hierarchy in ledger, update report formats, run company-wide cost allocations, high level reconciliation preparation.  Standard reporting to field and executives.  Profit and Loss (PnL) account analysis.  Provide account analyses to explain significant fluctuations reported in detail/summary to the Divisional Controller and Director on monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.  Supplemental and ad-hoc reporting, transactional data queries/analysis/reports, assistance and special projects for Corporate Controller/Divisional Controller/Director, as needed. Audit support including preparation of schedules and OAR fluctuation explanations for external audit. Position Requirements   Minimum 5 years of accounting experience. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Statistical Analysis, Master’s Degree preferred. Retail experience desirable. CPA certification preferred. Lawson and/or Hyperion ERP preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including advanced Excel skills; SQL query experience is a plus. Strong analytical skills with ability to work with large amounts of detailed data and translate data into meaningful information with limited supervision. Ability to multi-task, meet tight deadlines, and adjust to shifting priorities.
