The Data Architect / Data Modeler will assist with data mappings, data modeling, data profiling, query design, and data flow designs between multiple databases across multiples platforms.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Developing and delivering standard data model artifacts for large complex operational systems employing deep system integration and SOA architectures


• Assisting in the development and implementation of various strategic initiatives around Meta Data Management, Master Data Management, Data Quality, Data Architecture Policies, Standards and Governance


• Participating in data architecture design and review processes, including planning and monitoring efforts, reviewing deliverables and communicating to management


• Responding to change and engaging in multiple projects simultaneously


• Works with minimal guidance; seeks guidance on only the most complex tasks

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience as an IT professional


• 3+ years serving explicitly in a Data Architect or Data Modeler role


• 3+ years utilizing data modeling tools (ERwin, ER/Studio, PowerDesigner, etc)


• 3+ years creating conceptual, logical and physical data modeling for large databases


• 5+ years working with multiple DBMS (SQLServer, Oracle, DB2, etc)


• Excellent written and oral communication skills


• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Visio)


• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience


• Strong consultative and presentation skills


• Assertive (yet diplomatic) personality and the ability to handle change

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in a complex Health Care Insurance Services environment


• Familiarity with the regulatory environment affecting data in a Health Care Services environment is a plus (e.g., HIPAA 5010)


• Candidates need to work well in extended project teams with little oversight


• Familiarity with services-based development and technologies (e.g. XML, XSD)


• Familiarity with NoSQL platforms


• Familiarity with Agile methodology and impacts to Data Architecture


• Prior experience with Master Data Management, Meta Data Management, and/or canonical modeling
