The Traffic/Fleet Resource is the manager primarily responsible for the leadership of Fleet Maintenance and Operations to include garage, equipment, and a work team of technicians, hostlers, and admin. Other responsibilities include people and team development, driving the Safety agenda, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing and supporting the overall traffic center logistics and distribution performance, and ensuring world class service to customers both internal and external.

This Role could be filled as a L07, L08, or the appropriate level based on experience and qualifications of the candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, direct, staff and control asset management and maintenance of over the road fleet of +100 Class 8 tractors, +300 trailers and combinations of support vehicles.

Ensure the operational capability to achieve results with a Safe, Reliable and Cost Advantaged delivery fleet.

Develop capabilities and Fleet Technical competence in new and emerging industry technologies, CNG tractors, Advanced Diagnostics, telematics.

Direct preventative maintenance program compliance and approve internal and external vendor supported repairs

Evaluate, approve purchasing request, work orders, services and repairs.

Develop/manage a comprehensive asset utilization plan including vehicle life cycle management, and optimized use targets.

Develop/execute an annual fleet and garage operating plan

Manage support staff responsible for driver dispatch, computerized tracking of driver logs and other administrative functions as required.

Effectively interface with internal customers; customers and Frito-Lay associates

Plan, coordinate, and schedule warranty work and dealer policy repairs

Recruit, develop and retain fleet professional team members to achieve plan goals

Develop team to solve own day-to-day operational issues through a Continuous Improvement process.

Administer policies and procedures

Conduct presentations and formal training programs

Manage the Safety & Compliance agenda for the Traffic Center

Job Qualifications:

Bachelor degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Business Major

Prefer +5 years management and industry experience in a logistics and distribution environment.

Prefer automotive, fleet maintenance technical knowledge and experience

Proficiency with computerized Fleet Management Systems

Knowledge and experience with DOT guidelines

Excellent writing and analytical skills

Proven leadership capabilities in coaching, facilitation, presentation and team building skills

Minimum Job Requirements:

Ability to effectively support a dynamic time sensitive organization operating 24 hours day, 7 days per week.

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Proven management and leadership skills.

Physical Requirements:

Frequent standing and walking

Sitting occasionally to frequent

Lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally

Must be able to see (depth perception, near acuity and far acuity) and hear

Must be able to maneuver safely around moving equipment and/or in congested manufacturing areas

Must be able to tolerate extreme temperatures (hot and/or cold depending upon season and plant location)

Must pass a drug screen and background investigation

Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including safety glasses, ear plugs/muffs, steel toed shoes, rubber gloves/boots, etc.

Exposed to various packaging materials, raw ingredients, seasonings, cleaning chemicals, lubricants, etc.
