Senior Database Administrator

Experis is looking for a Sr SQL DBA.

The Senior Database Administrator designs, develops, configures, deploys, and supports database solutions with minimal supervision on the Microsoft SQL Server platform. Works with Information Services staff and with the business to configure and deploy application and system software and ensuring 24-7 service levels.

Designs and develops databases, data movement, data replication, views, stored procedures, SSIS and SSRS solutions
Understands, follows and helps enforce software development lifecycle practices
Code reviews SQL developed by DBAs and other IS development staff
Configures Microsoft SQL servers for development/QA/production
Deploys database solutions in coordination with related software deployments
Supports database solutions, including daily performance monitoring, problem analysis and resolution, restorations from backup, restoration of replication, and ad hoc data analysis
Understands, recommends, implements and support disaster recovery solutions for databases
Understands how hardware/network choices/issues affect SQL performance and configuration
Provides ongoing evaluation and recommendations on database technologies and architectures
At times, serves as technical lead in development of database solutions
Leads projects, service requests and project sub-teams when required
Helps determine, maintain, and track project schedules, tasks, and progress
Provides data refreshes for testing environments and automation of such with SSIS
Develops test plans with other IS departments
Technically leads and professionally mentors peers
Takes ownership, communicate status, and appropriately escalate departmental and enterprise issues through resolution
Facilitates group discussions and encourage teamwork for improved performance
Manages multiple commitments and prioritizes based on management feedback
Participates in off-hours on-call rotation



REQUIRED SKILLS
-Experience with the latest Microsoft SQL Server and Windows Server operating systems
-Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Integration, Analysis and -Reporting Services, preferred
-Experience with ER/Studio, Visio, and other modeling tools, preferred
-Experience with at least one high-level programming language, preferred
-Experience with IBMi, and data replication using SSIS, IBM Data -Replication or DataStage, helpful
-Advanced understanding of relational databases
-Strong analytical and interpersonal communication skills
-Self-starter with ability to work under minimal supervision
