Looking for a challenge? Entertainment Maintenance Technicians work on the most technologically advanced live shows in the world. Problem solving, superior technical skills, and possessing the ability to use good judgment under pressure are just some of the key attributes we are looking for in our Entertainment Maintenance Technicians.

  • Performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance on Technical Entertainment Systems.  Inspections include testing, cleaning, replacement, verification and/or calibration of applicable components and quality control.
  • Troubleshooting system failures and providing immediate and long-term corrective actions.  Involves researching defective components and instructional information to complete the repair process when required.  This entails logical extensive troubleshooting, referencing of technical drawings/manuals and specifications.
  • Providing data entry into the HireTrack system, logging of P.M. inspections, corrective actions, and/or repairs made while listing parts required implementing the repairs.  Also completing hard copy Preventative Maintenance records and physical logbook entries.
  • Performing projects and modifications to equipment and systems as directed by Universal Orlando Entertainment.
  • Understanding and actively participating in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Universal Orlando policy, procedures, training and Team Member involvement activities.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.



To perform the role of an Entertainment Maintenance Technician successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Consistent attendance is a job requirement.
  • High school degree or GED required.
  • Technical school is preferred.
  • Proven ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 
  • Audio/Video technician should have at least 3 to 5 years experience in the entertainment audio/video field
  • Technician with formal electronics training and/or at least 3 to 5 years experience in design, installation or maintenance of A/V & Entertainment systems.
  • Must possess knowledge of audio and video theory as well as practical training and experience
  • Should have advanced knowledge in the set-up and ongoing maintenance of A/V & Entertainment systems.
  • Computer experience with basic knowledge of MS, MSWord, MS Excel a plus; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced knowledge in the set-up and ongoing maintenance of A/V & Entertainment systems.
  • Certificates and factory training desired
  • Cable terminations and labeling.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in any situations
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Must have valid Florida Driver’s License.


The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of the Entertainment Maintenance Technician  job.


  • While performing the duties of this job, the individual is required to lift greater than 25 lbs. or more; use a highreach (aerial lift); use a valid Florida state driver’s license; perform maintenance or servicing on powerized (energized) equipment (pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical).



  • The following visual abilities are all required: clear vision at 20 inches or less; clear distance vision at 20 feet or more; accurate color vision (the ability to identify and distinguish colors); excellent peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); depth perception (three-dimensional ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); ability to adjust one’s focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).
