Working with local and national clinical, operational, technology and thought leaders and their teams the product director helps drive clinical innovation across Optum Care employed medical groups and high performing delivery systems.  


  

Primary Responsibilities:    

Assess innovation opportunities working with internal and external partners


 


Generate new innovation ideas through collaboration, formal and informal events, and engage with partners to define problems space and generate potential solutions 


 


Develop and maintain business partner relationships   


 


Innovation Ideation and product development   


 


Manage solutions development through ideation, the product development and release process, and growth and enhancements    


 


Develop and ensure successful realization of comprehensive product innovation plans including timelines, milestones, and deliverables   


 


Primary and secondary research to understand market and the competitive landscape and to drive sound design and decision-making   


 


Design pilots; initial focus on digital health, deploy, and evaluate pilot results   


 


Collaborate to deploy proven scalable solutions   


 


Support product delivery through collaboration with cross-functional partners, e.g. local clinical teams, national clinical program team, operations, technology solutions, marketing, consumer solutions   


 


Execute against strategic, tactical, and operational goals in partnership with team leadership and cross-functional partners   


  

Requirements

Required Qualifications:     


 

Bachelor's Degree      

 

Strategic thinker, experience evaluating new product/market ideas, experience generating and testing hypotheses including financial outcomes     

 

In-depth and thorough knowledge of products, strategic/analytic, and marketing concepts

 

Minimum 7 years of Marketing, Product, Care Management, Consulting or  Program Management experience within a matrix organization, minimum of 3 years of in healthcare       

 

Minimum 4 years of product development  experience, with some focus on consumer/patient and/or provider     

 

Demonstrated influencing and motivational skills, in a highly matrixed organization     

 

Demonstrated experience collaborating with stakeholders at all levels of an organization including executive leaders     

 

Ability to be flexible,  work with ambiguity in a dynamic environment    

 

Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills     

 

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills    

 

Self-starter with strong leadership and teamwork skills     

 

Fast and adaptive learner      

 

Intermediate proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint      

 

Ability to travel (approx. 20%)     

   


Preferred Qualifications:      


RN     


 


Master's Degree, preferably in Healthcare Management, Public Health (MPH), Clinical Social Work (MCSW), or Business Administration (MBA)     


 


Experience working in a clinical practice setting     


 


Five or more years of managed care experience working with consumers and providers    


 


Digital Health experience     


 


LEAN or six sigma experience
