Sutter Lakeside Hospital and Center for Health is a 25-bed critical access hospital serving the health care needs of residents of Lake County and its surrounding communities. Our beautifully landscaped campus houses medical-surgical beds, an intensive care unit and a new 29.000 square foot state-of-the-art emergency room and surgical center. Other specialized are services are offered through our Family Birth Center , Physical Therapy Center, Occupational Health and Family Medicine Clinic.
The Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant is responsible for providing primary care intervention in an ambulatory care setting under the direct supervision of the Medical Director or other staff physicians. The incumbent provides direct patient care for patients and coordinates the delivery of services to all patient population from Newborn to Geriatric and Workers Compensation patients . The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assisitant has primary responsibility for the medical issues of the practice in collaboration with the Medical Director who oversees them.The Nurse Practitioner is concurrently responsible for development, implementation and on-going evaluation of medical care policies and procedures in conjunction with the Medical Director. They work cooperatively with licensed, administrative and support staff to ensure the on-going operation of the department. The NP/PA directly supervises health care professionals and support staff functions in compliance with state of California Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Practice Act, certification and standards. Is directly responsible for quality patient care. Advocates for specific needs of client population. Must be able to work independently.
Education
Current licensure in the State of California as a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant
Current California DEA furnishing number
Experience
5 years recent experience in an ambulatory/primary care setting preferred, minimum of 1-2 years experience as a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in an ambulatory/primary care setting required.
Knowledge
Demonstration of Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant skills. Demonstration of knowledge of the care of the neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient. Understand, speak and write fluent English. Bilingual in English and Spanish helpful.
Special Skills/EquipmentMust maintain valid CPR certification. Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written; demonstrate strong customer service orientation.
