Business Analyst - Optum - Eden Prairie, MN - Full-time / Part-time

Primary Responsibilities:

• Serve as a key resource on critical issues related to operational processes and CPMS (Complex Population Management System)


• Analyzes and investigates business problems/issues and develops innovative solutions


• Configures and administers CPMS (Complex Population Management System) based on business requirements and processes


• Develops complex operational/client reports based on business requirements in CPMS (Complex Population Management System)


• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders (e.g., business owners, process owners, domain experts) to identify specific business requirements


• Manage/update requirements documents as needed throughout the design/development process (e.g., document revisions, change requests)


• Partner with applicable stakeholders to identify the operational impact of changes within defined solutions (e.g., changes to policies/processes/procedures, compliance with applicable legal/regulatory requirements)


• Seek opportunities to improve operating efficiencies/effectiveness (e.g., downstream impacts, role/responsibility realignment, enhanced business value)


• Support ongoing operations/maintenance/enhancement of existing solutions, in partnership with applicable stakeholders (e.g., IT, business owners/ partners, vendors)


• Support ongoing monitoring and adjustment of project scope/timelines/dependencies


• Develop and/or contribute to training programs to support implementation of the solution


• Provide ongoing support to ensure proper implementation and adoption of the solution (e.g., post-deployment support, definition/monitoring of control plans)

Required Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree (business, finance, health administration or related field preferred)


• 2-3 years business or IT analyst experience


• Very strong analytic and communication skills


• Intermediate level of proficiency with PC based software programs and automated database management systems required (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Salesforce administration or development


• Healthcare experience


• Demonstrated process improvement, workflow, benchmarking and / or evaluation of business processes


• Working knowledge of relational databases, database structures


• Basic Web Development experience


• Basic knowledge of process improvement concepts/methodologies such as Six Sigma
