Sodexo Campus Services is seeking an exceptional Catering Manager 2 to round out our outstanding management team at Ohio Dominican University located in Columbus, Ohio!
This Catering Manager will oversee an innovative, high end catering program for a very upscale, high profile client as well as oversee the day to day catering scheduling/technical delivery of campus catering.
This Catering Manager 2 will create catering experiences that exceed culinary and service expectations while enhancing client program objectives. Reporting to the GM, this position is responsible for the organization and execution of all catering events, oversee up to 20 events daily, manage up to 40 union associates and will work closely with our talented Chef.
The Catering Manager oversees all catering operations with an annual catering volume of $350K, as well as assisting in the management of our resident dining and retail programs. Manager will also assists with planning, coordinating roll-outs and training of national marketing programs with marketing initiatives such as surveys, merchandising, national programs, and pricing. They will also update social media platforms. On and off site events vary from casual coffee service to lunch meetings to large, high end, VIP events.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the organization and execution of all catering events and have demonstrated knowledge in the details associated with casual and fine dining, and banquet management as well as strong writing, costing, menu development and pricing skills, and exceptional customer service skills. Experience directing catering operations, implementing new offerings, and event sales are a plus! Additional skills include experience in high volume activity, employee/staff training, labor management and control systems. Resident Dining and Retail Operations in the absence of the General Manager
The ideal candidate will have:
Strong catering experience including solid financial acumen and deep understanding of the technical delivery aspect of catering - as well as event management and sales. High volume catering / banquet experience from Campus or Banquet/Conference Center background. High profile and High End catering -- attention to detail and providing exceptional catering service - developing creative options to fit our client's needs. Ability to build and mentor a solid catering team who share same level commitment and passion to catering: quality presentation, customer service, professionalism. Ability to multi-task and delegate to coordinate multiple events at a time and utilize a systems-based approach to meet each event's time-lines/specifications and quality of product. A demonstrated knowledge in casual and fine dining, and banquet management. A strong writing, costing, menu development and pricing skills. Union experience preferred!
