About this job
Summer position as house and grounds assistant for small yacht club on Narragansett Bay (near URI Bay Campus). Steward reports to the club manager and is required to open & close the club each day. The steward is also responsible for general maintenance and repairs to the building and grounds to include mowing lawn, weed whacking, watering, painting, sweeping and mopping floors, restrooms, and general pick-up. The steward will also be involved in various improvement projects ( basic carpentry skills) and be responsible for buying supplies for general club operation (drivers license required). The steward is required to support the club sailing programs (especially Saturday racing), and assist instructors conducting club programs.
Non-profit club.
Position is seasonal (approx. 6/03 - 8/31) 40 hours per week. Must be available entire season. Weekend work before and after summer is available.
Compensation: $12 per hour.
