Summary

Content Editor

The Content Editor is responsible for editing articles, recipes, fact checking, and proofreading while ensuring company procedures are utilized. Position Summary

The Content Editor is responsible for editing articles, recipes, fact checking, and proofreading while ensuring company procedures are utilized. Ideal candidates will have a culinary background and possess strong writing, editing and proofreading skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to effectively and enthusiastically perform all assigned editorial duties. The Content Editor is responsible for maintaining an exceptional level of accuracy while working under tight timelines; checking proper style, tone, language, vocabulary, grammar and working collaboratively with recipe developers, copywriters, designers, and account executives to ensure the best possible quality content.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manages all assigned projects with the primary responsibility of editing content with food-related and health/wellness themes; materials with ethnic themes; educational themes, and any other type of projects assigned by the Creative Director.
  • Edits copy for complex food-oriented multi-platform projects, including culinary, gourmet retail and guidebook programs.
  • Self manage administrative tasks for upkeep of content library and company style guides.
  • Performs all appropriate research to ensure content accuracy.
  • Acts as a liaison with external sources to ensure content received meets specifications.
  • Coordinates with Recipe Content Manager to ensure food-related content meets project specifications.

Minimum Qualifications

Education Level: (Required): Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience



Field of Study/Area of Experience: Journalism, Food Studies, Health and Wellness

Choose an item. 1-3 years of experience in content marketing, copy editing/fact checking.

Environmental & Physical Requirements

Office / Sedentary Requirements

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
