The primary responsibility of the Cashiering Specialist is to complete daily processing of the lockbox, over the counter and bulk remittance advance receipts. Posts all cash and completes day end processing.

Essential Job Duties:

1. Complete the posting of payments and adjustments daily.

2. Complete end of day balancing for individual work.

3. Research and correct issues associated with unapplied cash.

4. Research and correct other Cashiering Specialist transactions as necessary.

5. Match tape and post balances to daily totals.

6. Other duties as assigned.

The following are the job requirements for the Cashiering Specialist position:

1. High school degree or equivalent is required.

2. Must work effectively with other employees, patients, insurance companies and other outside parties.

3. Proactive, assertive and articulates knowledge and understanding of payer claims.

4. Must demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.

5. Customer focused, providing service consistently exceeding expectations to both internal and external customers.

6. Proficient in Microsoft office applications (esp. Excel), 10 key and others as required.

7. Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize needs and manage resources.

8. 1-3 years of working in cash posting in a multi-facility healthcare business office setting is required.
