Suncoast Behavioral Health Center is a private, acute inpatient psychiatric facility designed to provide quality services in a supportive environment to children, adolescents, adults, and mature adults.

The Intake RN is responsible for responding to admission referrals and other requests for services and information. The Intake Clinician provides general support to UR and Social Services under the direction of the Lead Clinician and the Director of Assessment and Referral. The Intake RN has additional responsibilities in the medical screening of potential patients.

Education: Minimum of an AA degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.

Experience: A minimum of two (2) years' experience as a Registered Nurse. Prefer six (6) months in psychiatric nursing. Knowledge of current nursing procedures, the nursing process, medications and their correct administration.

License/Certification: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida. Current CPR Certification required.

Skills: Excellent communication skills. Ability to relate to those emotionally disturbed and in crisis.

Physical Requirements: Medium demand, mentally. Requires extensive time sitting, writing, and talking on telephone. Ability to assist in crisis intervention, physical intervention with out of control patients.
