JOB SUMMARY:

The Security Officer protects company assets and provides a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, and is the front line representative of the security department to internal and external constituents.

Security Officer Responsibilities:
  • Maintains safe and secure work environment by providing interior and exterior patrol function according to established patrol checklists.
  • Perform unscheduled patrols based upon observations and risk.
  • Understands and executes all post duties as directed.
  • Enforces all security rules and policies.
  • Responds to all Client emergency situations per post orders.
  • Escorts visitors/vendors while in secure areas.
  • Identifies safety and security violations.
  • Operates access control and fire safety systems.
  • Monitors all CCTV views and responds to events in accordance with Client SOP.
  • Monitors all secured doors; controls/assists employee ingress and egress.
  • Maintains all security equipment including life safety, access control and CCTV.
  • Maintains security vehicles in good repair.
  • Monitors and maintains security office equipment and supplies.
  • Completes logs and reports as required.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Client’s Internal Security Department requires that the Client's on-site guard force must meet a set of demanding performance standards as part of its Testing Facility Certification criteria. In order to fulfill the criteria, the Client has developed and implemented the following Client security posts and duties of security personnel assigned to these posts.

JOB SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have a valid Arizona State Security Officer License (We will train qualified and accepted applicants)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to walk and climb stairs.
  • Ability to walk/stand extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work outside in extreme weather conditions.
  • Ability to see and hear accurately in both day and nighttime conditions.
  • Ability to comprehend numerous policies, procedures, concepts and to be able to respond using discretion and interpretive judgment based on general and specific policies.
  • Ability to retain knowledge, information, and directions on an ongoing basis and communicate effectively with others.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to react appropriately in emergency situations.
  • Skill in operating portable radio devices.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
  • Must be customer service oriented.
  • Must be able to be FA/CPR/AED Certified (We will provide training).
  • Must embody U.S. Security Associates’ values as a highly visible representative of the branch and set high standards for him/her and others.
  • Requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment.
