Rockford Center, a 118-bed acute psychiatric hospital continues to provide a full continuum of behavioral health services to geriatrics, adults, adolescents, and children.

Rockford Center currently has an opening for a C.N.A. in our Inpatient Geriatric Nursing Department. The candidate selected will be responsible for the following:

Monitor unit patients and complete rounds as assigned.

Participate in treatment planning by helping to identify patients' problems, needs and strengths. Report all areas of concern regarding patient's mental or physical status to the Charge Nurse.

Assist in the admission process, including obtaining vital signs, safety search of patients and personal belongings, obtaining urine specimens and orienting new patients to the unit and their program.

Ensure precaution protocols are followed, and encourage patients to actively participate in all program activities.

Accompany patients as assigned by Charge Nurse.

Maintain patient, department and related documentation ensuring that forms are properly and promptly completed and routed.

Participate in hospital emergency codes necessary to the unit's and the hospital's safe operation.

Provide general nursing assistance, appropriate to patients' age and as assigned and supervised by charge nurse.

Monitor vital signs and assist patients with activities of daily living.

Performs activities with the patients safely.

Assigned 1:1 requires assistant to patients with all of their needs, i.e. toileting, bathing, grooming, meals, dressing, helping patient to ambulate safely, etc.

Assisting with dressing changes as needed.

Carry out clerical and administrative assignment to support patient care and department operations, including taking and routing of phone messages.

The following are the job requirements for the C.N.A. position:

Completion of an accredited nurse assistant program. Valid State of DE C.N.A certification.
