Build Engineer - Multiple Locations - Full-time / Part-time

This position will provide technical expertise across multiple technologies and development projects.  You will provide day to day support to the SDLC environments supporting the applications and teams.  You will work closely with the Environments Technical Lead to ensure a collaborative and cohesive alignment to the projects, releases across the multitude of applications.  In addition there will be a focus on technical projects or process improvement opportunities across the tools, processes and teams.  Contribute to technical projects and support computer systems, their planning, configuration, testing, and implementation. Primary focus is technical SDLC environment management in supporting the projects necessary to deliver business value.  Day to day focus will be on daily code builds and deployments across the applications and programs.  Additionally, building out documentation to support the overall SDLC process related to the development, testing, UAT, and staging environments.  

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide expertise in the support of small to moderate size projects including evaluation of processes and products


• Serve as a project team member on medium sized technical projects


• Execute plans and provide estimates of costs, project deliverables and completion dates as needed


• Provide solutions to technical problems of moderate scope and complexity requiring evaluation.


• Provide technical and architectural assistance to implementation teams


• Provide input and recommendation into the standards setting process


• Identify, understand and document all relevant data sources


• Represent the organization in providing solution to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects


• Continuous process review and improvements to address unacceptable processes


• Review the service and component availability and identify unacceptable levels to be addressed


• Proactive and reactive review to help ensure service levels


• Ability to work with little to moderate supervision

Required Qualifications:

• Relevant Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field


• 5 years technical experience in application development organization


• 3 years of technical experience in performing build and deployments


• Experience and understanding of the application infrastructure


• Excellent communication skills across an organization

Preferred Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of WebSphere, JBOSS, Maven, AnthillPro, Subversion, Git, Jenkins


• Automated build generation / deployment via script


• Demonstrated knowledge in infrastructure & software development


• Broad practical knowledge of multiple source code management, versioning, build and deploy technologies


• Strong analytical, project management, decision-making and communication skills


• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment


• Analytical and critical thinking skills


• Collaboration and influencing skills


• Strong verbal and written communication skills


• Strong problem solving skills demonstrating ingenuity and creativity
