Electro-Mechanical Tech

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience/education:

* Ability to effectively use electrical instruments such as volt/ohm meter.
* Understanding of temperature control devices and circuitry.
* Understanding of AC/DC electrical control circuits.
* Understanding of industrial electronic controls such as frequency drives and PLC's.
* Basic metal working skills.
* Ability to use measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, and gages.
* Working knowledge of pneumatic circuits and equipment.
* Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic circuits and equipment.
* Ability to read electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
* High School Diploma or GED
* Industrial Maintenance/Engineering Technology Diploma/Degree and at least 4 years industrial maintenance experience

Automation/Control Technician Responsibilities:

  • Automation/control technicians are responsible for providing technical solutions to automation-related tasks.
  • Successful candidates must be able to Program, modify, and audit programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
  • Successful candidates will be responsible for designing programs for logic controllers, as well as providing maintenance for programmable devices used in production equipment.
  • Control/automation technicians will also ensure correct performance of motion controllers and human machine interfaces.
  • Successful candidates will repair and debug control devices to avoid production loss, as well as create documentation based on the schematics and wiring plans for each device.
  • Successfull candidates will create sketches of electrical circuits using specialized computer programs.
  • Successful candidates will also label circuit wiring, test and monitor equipment for compliance with engineering specifications, and identify operational problems.
  • Technicians also must follow electrical regulations and inspect controllers to ensure code compliance.
  • Automation technicians must follow strict company standards and established safety regulations.
  • Will work in a plant environment and report progress to the maintenance manager.
  • You should have working knowledge of electrical controls and systems, as well as a solid knowledge of motion control,and pneumatics.
  • Control/automation technicians should be able to identify wiring principles and panel layout, in addition to hydraulics control troubleshooting.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position. Previous experience working with electronics are preferred, and additional training in machine automation may be helpful.

Successful candidates must possess strong interpersonal skills to communicate with colleagues about issues as they arise. Successful candidates should work well in a team setting with other technicians, but also work effectively on their own.

Willingness to submit to hair folicle nicotine/drug test.
