The Tax Operations department is an enterprise

wide firm utility, handling all areas of US taxes and reportable income for

both institutional clients and Morgan Stanley entities. Tax Operations is

responsible for ensuring US tax withholding done at Morgan Stanley conforms

with US tax law, is reported as per IRS regulations to both MS clients and the

Internal Revenue Service, and new products and transaction types are evaluated

for US tax impact. Tax Operations face an unprecedented pace of regulatory and

business change which is driving to improve the group's operating model,

business processes and system capabilities, and we expect the pace of change to

accelerate as the new regulatory environment clarifies. The Tax Department

currently has an opening for a Analyst/Associate to facilitate various

reconciliations, information reporting's (both client {i.e. Form 1099R}, IRS

and State filings as well firm filings {i.e. 945/1042}), as well as Federal and

State deposits.

Tax

Operations is looking for a candidate with 1-3 years of tax experience in the

financial industry to assist in running the day to day operations of the Tax

team.

Primary

Responsibilities:

Conducting daily withholding and tax compliance

Handling escalations and communications with institutional business units

Year-end forms production and quality assurance for

- General

tax withholding and reporting queries

- System

enhancements and testing

Assisting in creating business requirement documents & testing of the

changes

Qualifications/Skills
