Job Summary Duties:

Serve as a front line receptionist in the Security and Entrance Service Department at the Welcome Desk in the Cardiovascular Center and/or UMHS. We prefer candidates that are knowledgeable of UMHS policies and procedures, have a good understanding of the various departments, patient related functions and services of the Health System. Employees in this position provide interpretative information regarding inquiries on our vendor program and policies. Employees assist vendors in utilizing the Vendormate ID system. They also issue temporary ID badges to visitors and staff. They assist patients and visitor by providing information, and internal and external directions as needed. They assist with Valet Services and provide solutions or resources to patients and families in need of transportation, housing, or directions to the Guest Assistant Office. Candidates must be detail oriented, organized, have the ability to prioritize and be able to multi-task. Candidate must have the ability to process information quickly and accurately. Must be able to perform within a team setting and have a willingness to problem solve with co-workers.

Desired Qualifications* Departmental Qualifications

Candidates must have good computer and keyboarding skills. This position involves working with many specialized programs. They must also be fluent with Microsoft Office. Experience with M-Pathways is preferred. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively. They must possess good interpersonal and communications skills. This position requires excellent customer service skills; it involves constant face to face and telephone interaction with patients, visitors and the public. Applicants should have cashier experience. Employees must have the ability to function well in stressful situations, and will be expected to work at a high level without direct supervision. Some college education and/or other computer related training is preferred. We prefer applicants have a minimum of a year experience working in a public setting. Candidates are required to pass a detailed pre-employment criminal history screening prior to them being hired.

Work Schedule Note: This isa 20 hour position. Friday 2:30pm - 11:00pm; Saturday & Sunday 3pm - 9pm and possible Holidays.
