POSITION PURPOSE -

The Home Depot is the leading retailer in home improvement across all channels - stores, online, and mobile. Home Depot's Supply Chain portfolio is complex and huge. As you can imagine demand for efficient and cost effective solutions is ever growing, i.e., deliver the right merchandise at right time with the least cost at the right store.

We are at the early stages of developing a new cloud based ecommerce platform using Cassandra and Java based Rest services to better serve our customers with innovative ways to shop with first of its kind capabilities. MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITES -

• Understand application functional requirements
• Collaborate closely with development teams to create test plan/cases
• Develop automated tests against applications that test functionality and performance under load
• Design and develop API scripts using for Rest client API's using tools like Java/XML
• Integrate test scripts with Jenkins using TestNG or custom framework and run daily regressions
• Modify scripts as needed to stay in sync with the TDD model
• Certify releases applying quality metrics and create detailed reports

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS-

• 5+ years of experience with Java and standard test tools such as JUnit, soapUI, TestNG, Rest-Assured, rest client etc.
• Strong understanding of Object Oriented software development techniques and Test Driven Development
• Strong technical competency and experience with web applications, web services and understanding of automated testing for API
• Web Services knowledge with SOAP/JSON/RESTful API experience
• Knowledge of Apache Solr.
• Functional understanding of HTTP and how it applies to RESTful service testing
• Understanding of cloud domain applications and platform preferred

• Position reports to IT Manager
• No direct reports

EDUCATION REQUIRED -
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -

• Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable

TRAVEL -

• Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time
  
  MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -
  Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  Must pass the Drug Test.
  Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses.
  
  PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
  Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about; occasionally there may be a need to stoop or lift light objects (typically less than 8 pounds).
