Two Rivers Behavioral Health (UHS Facility), a 105-bed acute facility, is a leading provider of behavioral health care in the Kansas City area on both an inpatient and outpatient basis. For the past 27 years the facility has provided 24-hour care for individuals in need. We currently have a position available for a PRN Music Expressive Therapist (as needed) to work with our inpatient and partial-hospital outpatient populations.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a variety of patient populations including adults and adolescents with mental health and/or substance use disorders. The Music Therapist is responsible for providing age and developmentally appropriate therapy groups and establishing behavioral treatment goals in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Two Rivers Hospital.

The current Art / Music/ Expressive Therapist position is a full-time position which will be assigned specific group and occasional individual sessions.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description. The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position. Candidate must demonstrate competency in working with children, adolescents, and adults with mental health and substance use disorders.

Education: Master's Degree in Art Therapy, Music Therapy or related field preferred. Bachelor's is degree required.

Experience: One year experience in Expressive Therapy field working with a mental health population is preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Working toward registered and board certified with American Art Therapy Association, American Music Therapy Association or appropriate license/certification based on field.

Knowledge: Knowledge of group leadership skills required, age specific growth and development, crisis and behavioral management preferred.
