About this job
This Electrician (Data Center) will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair and testing of a wide range of electrical equipment such as programmable logic controllers, generators, motors, transformers, control panels, cables, power distribution systems and associated switchgear in the plant and mission critical data centers. This position will assure safe workplace practices are followed at all times and drive safety awareness through leading by example. This includes predictive, preventive and proactive electrical maintenance analysis. He/she must work to all codes and regulations while making electrical installations, adjustments and repairs in plant and office environments as well as assist outside contractors on major projects. This position requires a broad working knowledge of electric and electronics principles, formulas and applications.
Required Qualifications - Minimum of 3-5 years electrical experience in operations and maintenance of large commercial electrical systems
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision and effectively complete multiple complicated tasks.
- Strong communication skills and ability to deal tactfully and efficiently at all levels of the organization.
- Exceptional organizational and problem solving skills.
- Awareness of operational safety requirements in a critical environment and ability to apply and follow procedures and requirements per regulatory bodies.
- Willing to work overtime as required.
- Active Electrical license and or proven experience.
Preferred Qualifications - 5-8 years electrical experience in operations and maintenance of large commercial electrical systems.
- Ability to learn materials, blueprints, schematics, and information from the manufacturer.
- Knowledge and skills to perform preventive maintenance on all electrical equipment including: motors, lighting controls and circuits, UPS, diesel generators, electrical distribution centers, motor control centers, and building automation controls.
- Knowledge of electrical codes and regulations, and industry standards for installations, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
Education - Verifiable High School diploma or GED is required.
- Bachelors Degree is preferred
- Facilities Management Certification by BOMA/IMFA desired.
