Primary Job Responsibilities are performing data analysis and coming up with strategies to solve business problems. This role also offers a unique opportunity to innovate and improve on ways to use Walmart.com, Walmart Stores and external data to solve business problems
Position Description
• Consult with various areas of the business to identify and define business needs and objectives • Identify opportunities for improving business processes and recommend solutions through data analysis • Conduct business research and detailed cost benefit analysis to assist the business in selecting right solutions • Use quantitative techniques to analyze structured and unstructured data • Innovate and leverage machine learning, data mining and statistical techniques to create new, scalable, efficient, automated processes for creating/driving business solutions • Make complex data and results more accessible to business partners using graphs, tables and other visualization techniques • Prepare and extract data from large databases.
Minimum Qualifications
• MBA with B.S. in quantitative discipline or M.S. in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Operations Research or other quantitative, engineering area is required • 3 - 7 years of experience in data analysis and strategy development using R or similar statistical tools • Experience in analyzing massive and highly complex data sets, performing ad-hoc analysis and data manipulation • A passion for excellence in analytics • Excellent visualization and presentation skills. • A can-do attitude to carry out a project from design to completion in a timely basis • Great communication skills, strong project management skills and teamwork, and superb attention to details • Proficiency in R, SQL, Hive and UNIX is required
