Cardiovascular Step-Down Unit 2 B

Largo Medical Center Health System is a 456-bed acute care hospital. Our two campuses offer very comprehensive services for patients in the Tampa Bay area.

Typical patients of the CSU are Pre/Post Heart Surgery (24-48 hours post op and stable, transferred from CVICU), Post-Interventional Cardiac Cath, Stabilized MI and related Cardiac Diagnoses. Major Equipment Used: GE Telemetry monitors, IV pumps, Dinamaps, Dopplers, MedtronicExternal Pacemakers

Complete computerized charting through the Meditech system for patient assessment and care documentation. Bedside Monitors are at every bedside and there are computers in every room for next-to-patient charting ease. Largo Medical Center uses electronic medication administration record (eMAR) for the delivery of all medications provided to patients

The RN Tele/Progr Care reports directly to the unit Clinical Manager, and is responsible and accountable for the delivery of patient care through the utilization of the nursing process in accordance with physicians' orders, established policies and procedures, established professional standards, and administrative hospital-wide policies.

Qualifications

Current licensure as an RN.

Current certification as a BLS and ACLS Healthcare Provider through the American Heart Association.

Must have successfully completed a telemetry training course in the past; prior telemetry/PCU experience with CV/Post Open Heart patients preferred.

Prior experience working with sheath pulls preferred.

Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.

Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.

Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment.

Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds.
