Alaska Regional Hospital is calling a Charge Registered Nurse for the PACU team! This is a Full Time Day position working an 8 hour shift consistently. You will be in charge of approximately 24 staff and an opportunity to join an excellent Surgical Services Team!
The purpose of the PACU Charge Nurse is to assist the department manager in the supervision and management of the operations in the PACU department. The minimum duties and responsibilities include:
Coordinates/delegates and re-adjusts patient assignments
Adjusts staffing appropriately to cover the needs of the department (including reduction and increase).
Maintains general overview of surgeons and their needs.
Verbalizes strategies to maintain a Service Excellence-oriented approach.
Demonstrates mentoring ability when interacting with staff members.
Maintains a safe environment for staff, patients, physicians and visitors.
Monitors staff adherence to protocols and procedures.
Monitors efficient room turnover.
Qualifications:
Licensed Register Nurse in State of Utah
Registered Nurse in State of Utah
BLS or CPR required within 30 days of hire
ACLS (or within 90 days of hire)
Minimum two years experience in a Registered Nurse Supervisor/Manager position preferred
Minimum five years experience as a Registered Nurse in a specialty area of responsibility preferred
Operating Room experience preferred
