POSITION SUMMARY :
Patrols various areas of Hospital facilities, grounds and acts to deter loss of Hospital, employee, patient and visitor property by intercepting unauthorized individuals and investigating unusual incidents. Work is performed inside and outside in all types of weather conditions on a regular basis.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :
Minimum: Valid California Drivers License and current security guard license through CA BSIS (Bureau of Security and Investigative Services).
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :
Minimum: Must be able to read and write English very well. Long hours of standing and walking are a requirement of this job. Work under general supervision and prescribed procedures.
Preferred: Trained in restraining and detaining unauthorized individuals on Hospital grounds or unruly, abusive, injurious individuals according to policy and procedures.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS :
Minimum: Security Guard License.
Preferred: Associate degree in Administration of Justice.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS :
Minimum: Hospital policy & procedures, patrol procedures.
Preferred: Communication skills, ability to assess and react to a crisis situation, report writing and knowledge of requirements pertaining to law enforcement.
