3M is seeking a Multi Craft Mechanic for the Corporate Staff Groups located in Decatur, AL. Be part of what's next!
Job Summary : The person hired for the position of Multi Craft Mechanic will maintain, repair, and install electrical control, mechanical, and all other equipment performed in a safe, timely, and effective manner under the current policies of 3M Decatur.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Install, modify, repair, and upgrade electrical, mechanical, and control/computer equipment
- Perform inspections, tests and preventative maintenance as well as equipment installation, repair and replacement
- Troubleshoot malfunctions in operating equipment
- Conducts Preventative Maintenance and inspections to determine if deficiency exists
- Calibration and certification of shop and process equipment
- Maintain programmable controllers and computer systems
- Complete overhauls of various types of equipment such as: reactor drives, gear boxes, pumps, mechanical seals, powered mobile equipment, air compressors, and boilers
- Operation of grinders, saws, drills, vibrations equipment, hand tools and other shop equipment in a safe and effective manner
This position will require:
- Working overtime
- Weekend work
- Working holidays as needed
- Short notice call-in
- Working a first, second, or third shift, depending on shift availability
Basic Qualifications:
- Possess a High School Diploma/GED and have 4 years experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance OR Associates Degrees in both electrical and mechanical technology
Preferred Qualifications:
- Possess an Associate Degrees in both electrical and mechanical technology and 4 years of experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance
- Completion of Multi Craft training program AND 4 years experience in single craft OR possess an Associate's degree in electrical or mechanical technology
Location: Decatur, AL
Relocation: Is not authorized
Qualified applicants will be required to take and pass 3M elected testing as a part of the selection process.
