Transformation Special Projects Manager - Telecommute - Full-time / Part-time

The Manager of Transformation Special Projects provides supplemental assistance to a 4 part Transformation team functioning within the Optum 360 Delivery and Performance Department. The Transformation Team consists of Directors of Front End, Middle, Back End, and Technology transformation which service national and international Optum 360 Revenue Cycle operations. The Special Projects Manager works in conjunction with Transformation and Operations on short term special projects which are not considered part of daily operational actives and do not qualify as a major transformation project.  

Transformation teams function to support client and business operations providing best practice transformation methodology, transformation collateral, and transformation coordination. Transformation teams work closely with the Optum 360 Project Management Departments to coordinate and report on activities.

The Manager of Transformation Special Projects will assess scope, design and direct small teams allocated from Optum360 Consulting Services to assigned projects to support Operations and Transformation.

    • Client Operations and IT, Optum PMO, Optum Professional Services, Optum Implementation Services, External Vendors

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of Revenue Cycle Experience


• Undergraduate degree


• Moderate Microsoft Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and SharePoint skills


• Broad subject matter expertise across the Revenue Cycle which would include expertise in process design, technology application, and key performance reporting


• Proven background driving consistency in best practices, methodologies and standards for implementing solutions at hospital based clients


• Proven management of complex projects on time, in scope and within budget


• Proven effective communication and reporting activities to clients and internal management, including budget, risks, issues, etc.


• Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities


• Ability to motivate and drive teams with indirect reporting relationships


• Ability to travel about 50% or as required to coordinate and ensure successful operations

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree preferred in relevant field of study
