Reporting into the National Sales Manager for PPG AC’s Menards business, this position will manage all aspects of account sales for $100MM paint and stain business for our strategic retail customer.

This position will help develop, direct, implement and communicate an account strategy for Menards account, The position will assist with current and long term sales growth plans and financial management (P&L) of the account along with the day-to-day interaction with the customer (external and internal), category management, marketing, supply chain, field sales, and customer service. The position will be located in Minneapolis area or Eau Claire, WI.

Primary Accountabilities:

  • Develop and execute field sales directives to ensure product programs are sold effectively at store level and lead on-going category management for product line that includes product positioning and offering at store level

  • Manage profitability of the paint and stain category

  • Develop and maintain regular and effective relationships at all levels within the customer’s decision making organization. (including Merchandising, Supply Chain, Marketing)

  • Develop productivity solutions to meet Menards productivity metric goals

  • Collaborate with PPGAC National Accounts marketing team to address Point of Sale (POS) requirements

  • Analyze Menards product and productivity performance

  • Maximize return on investment of promotional vehicles
Collect and process competitor data to grow the account effectively.

Qualifications

Requires:

  • Undergraduate 4-year business degree, MBA preferred

  • Minimum of five (5) years of account management/sales experience

  • Demonstrated project management skills

  • Demonstrated background in business analytics and computer skills

  • Solid understanding of Marketing (preferably retail/consumer)

  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with external and internal customers

  • Retail experience, especially in home center channel is desirable, not required
