The Color Services Manager role will be responsible for the development and successful execution of strategic and tactical color management projects. Projects will be primarily focused on the PPG stores channel, but will have crossover applications to dealer and national accounts as well. The individual will be tasked with leading and managing initiatives and projects in the areas of color formula delivery, equipment and methodology standardization, annual equipment needs analysis and the deployment of tinting, mixing and matching equipment. Additionally, the individual will play a critical role in the planning, development, and implementation of PPG Next Generation colorants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide quality service to PPG’s internal and external customers in all assigned tasks, while upholding PPG values at all times
  • Support stores annual equipment needs by coordinating with Store Group Managers to identify gaps in individual PPG stores in the United Stated and Puerto Rico, and working closely with the Manager of Store Development, Purchasing, Equipment Vendors, etc. to deploy assets while managing the overall equipment budget.
  • Responsible for working with IT, Store Operations, Marketing, PPGAC Color Labs, etc. to manage formula deployment infrastructure and updates for PPG stores.
  • Work closely with Marketing, R&D, Color Labs, Supply Chain, Finance, PPG Management Steering Team and other internal functional groups to define, develop and implement the Next Generation PPG universal colorant system. Including refinement of an overall project timelines, coordinating work streams, managing colorant field testing, reporting results to senior leadership, and implementing the program in stores, dealers & national accounts in the US, Canada & Puerto Rico.
  • Maintain store equipment databases annually including additions, deletions, research, corrections and cleaning
  • Identify and leverage opportunities to continually improve the quality of color management systems, processes and standards
  • Leverage existing and implement new technologies in the area of color management
  • Engage and partner with third party vendors, IT and other parties as required
  • Takes a “hands on” approach to data clean up as required


Qualifications

Requires:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in Sales, Product Marketing or similar role
  • Strong working knowledge of PPG sales channels and PPG paint and sundry product offerings
  • An understanding of IT systems, databases and proven competence in analysis
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong oral and written communications skills at all levels of the organization
