Sr Network Engineer Job

Sr. Network Engineer needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in Fort Wayne, IN.

What You'll Be Doing:

- Network Activation team.
- The team is responsible for the test and turn-up of a National IP Network.
- This position will perform all duties that are necessary to provision circuits and network elements.
- Project coordination to implement WAN and LAN technologies is also required.
- A strong background in IP routing and Ethernet switching is essential.
- Work with vendors to resolve software issues
- Track and complete network wide upgrades
- Responsible for customer traffic moves
- Test and turn-up new hardware/software
- Test and turn-up new network circuits (DS3, OC3, OC12, GigE, 10GigE)
- Need to be able to work closely with network engineering to provide feedback on potential network designs and new applications
- Responsible for completing maintenances during off hours

What You Need to Bring to the Table:

- Minimum five (5+) years experience in data environment
- Must be able to work flexible hours
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Must have extensive knowledge of and practical experience in the use of routing protocols: MPLS, BGP, OSPF, QoS
- Should have extensive experience in: IP Subnetting, VPN, Network Design, Ethernet switching, and Dial/DSL technologies.
- Should have an understanding of Ethernet switching, Spanning Tree Protocol and LAN switching environments.
- Good written, oral and presentation skills are critical to the position. (This position interacts with regional engineers, shared services and local field personnel on a daily basis.)
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks at one time
- Scripting/Programming skills are desired.
- Some understanding of IPv6 would be beneficial.
- Recommended Certifications is ideal: - Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) - Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) - Cisco Certified Internetworking Professional (CCIP) - Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA-M) - Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist (JNCIS-M)
