Job Description
Spray paint vehicles and related equipment as directed for surface protection and quality appearance. Sand, fill minor defects and clean component surfaces as required. Mask and stripe vehicles for quality appearance and two tone application. Disassemble, clean, repair, adjust and reassemble painting equipment, such as pumps, paint heaters, tanks, spray guns, etc. for proper operation. Flush tanks, hoses and guns prior to color changeovers. Mix all types of paints for proper viscosity and consistency. Remove and replace wheels, hoods and equipment, etc. Requires climbing under and over vehicles. Handle parts weight up to 3000 lbs. using cranes, jacks, dollies, forklift trucks, drive trucks, etc. Undercoat and prime vehicles as directed. Apply decal type vehicle markings as required.
Qualifications
Requires the use of simple arithmetic and some measuring instruments such as caliper, scale. Equivalent to four years high school.
Basic Qualification
Current Oshkosh Defense Hourly Production employee or laid off Oshkosh Defense Hourly Production employee with recall rights.
