The Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) Finance and Business Management (F&BM) group provides financial advice to support the CIB's business strategy and helps to ensure a sound control environment. Within F&BM, the four major areas of responsibility are: Business-aligned BMs (Business Managers), the CIB Controller, Support Staff CFO, and Planning and Analysis.
Department Description:
Business Support Management (BSM) is a function within CIB Finance & Business Management. The group is responsible for many levels of administrative and control-focused support to our CIB businesses. This includes, but is not limited to, oversight and management of Administrative Assistants and general support of day to day business functions and controls.
The team interacts heavily with multiple lines of business, Business Managers, CIB North America and Global counterparts, and Internal Business Partners such as CIB Expense Management, Business Change Management, Compliance, Human Resources, and Technology.
Roles and Responsibilities:
This position is accountable for managing a team of administrative assistants in support one or more LOB's in multiple locations. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of admin or management experience with demonstrated success in leading productive and motivated work teams and managing large scope projects across multiple LOB's and regions.
The position also includes a strong people management and HR emphasis. Experience in the field is preferred. The candidate must demonstrate highly effective communication and relationship building performance with all organizational levels. Primary responsibilities include:
Lead day to day team activities and manage coverage
Develop and implement meaningful performance metrics
Motivate individual and team performance
Coach and mentor team; develop team leaders where appropriate
Enforce a dynamic control/ compliance environment and continually mitigate risk in business processes
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
Manage relationships with internal business partners across multiple LOB's in the Corporate Investment Bank (both in North America and Globally)
Provide thought leadership in strategic direction to improve productivity and leverage to the business
Build consensus around key initiatives
Advocate for the administrative staff needs
Lead the performance management process for direct reports
Participate in compensation planning
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
5 years of related experience
Human Resources and/or experience managing large teams is preferred
Prior experience in an Investment Banking or Financial Services organization is preferred
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong and independent problem solving skills
Customer service / Client facing experience
Excellent relationship building skills with the ability to listen well and influence others
A self-starter who is organized and consistently meets deliverables
