Job Description
The Surgical Tech is responsible for assisting the physician with scheduled and emergency procedures. The Surgical Tech also assists the nurses with duties designated by charge nurse, including stocking of rooms, setting up tables, and transporting patients. The Surgical Tech in lieu of the Unit Secretary will transcribe physicians' orders, answer phones and patient call lights and maintain supplies. The Surgical Tech performs specific job functions while adhering to established hospital and department guidelines and must have excellent organization and communication skills.
IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR OR Tech
High School/GED required; Vocational/Technical degree strongly preferred
Minimum 1 year recent experience required
Surgical Technologist Certification required
Operating Room and/or Endoscopy/GI/Open Heart experience preferred
BLS Required
