OrnamentShop.com is looking to hire a Supervisor who will work with the management team of our family-owned business. We are the leading seller of personalized Christmas ornaments on the Internet and also have a retail store on-site at our Lake Forest office (conveniently located at I-294 & Route176). We have been in business for 30+ years and have experienced tremendous growth, which mandates adding to our team.
The Supervisor will interface with many facets of the company including operations, customer service, and inventory control. Exposure to so many areas of the company will allow this Supervisor to grow into a crucial member of our Management team. If you like to multi-task, can easily adjust to changing priorities, are able to work alone on different projects, are a self-starter and have a can do attitude, you will fit perfectly into our environment.
OrnamentShop.com is a seasonal business so this year-round position requires part-time hours in our off-season (January through May -- 30% of total yearly hours), picking up to full-time hours pre season (June through October -- 45% of total yearly hours) and working overtime hours as needed starting in November and continuing through December (30% of total yearly hours).
- Pay is hourly and dependent on experience.
- Insurance is not offered at this time.
- Ideal candidate will live within 30 minutes of I-294 and Route 176.
Qualifications:
* Previous managerial experience is required
* Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point
* Exceptional attention to detail
* Data entry skills and accuracy of information is key
* Excellent organizational skills
* Ability to work on multiple tasks, reporting to multiple people
* Strong customer service skills
* Comfortable working independently and sometimes alone
* Able to work with or without close supervision
* Flexible and able to handle changing priorities
* Resourceful and able to come up with solutions
* Oriented toward both highly detailed and big picture thinking
* Ability to lift 20-30 pounds
* Must be able to climb ladders to reach and organize product
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Responsible for daily printing and organization of Internet orders from Administrative software system for delivery to internal production team
* Ensure that sufficient internet orders are printed and disseminated to internal product team for all shift changes, morning, afternoon and evening
* Oversee picking of products from shelving to fulfill all Internet orders and prepare for sending to our personalization department
* Manage sister site ChristmasOrnaments.com (print, pull, proof, pack and ship orders)
* Assist assigned Manager with product opening during the summer
* Enter product inventory into proprietary Administrative system
* Organize and place product inventory on shelves
* Ensure total accuracy of product inventory data within our Administrative software system and product shelving
* Reconcile differences in physical inventory and the Admin software system
* Open and close the office during season on designated days
* Weekend work is mandatory from November 2nd through December 20th
