Production Planner

The role of the production planner is to manage the finished goods production planning and inventory management activities for assigned finished goods at the plant and copackers while ensuring achievement of customer service goals and minimizing operating cost and inventory investment

Accountabilities :

Manage Backorder Risk analysis and provide details to customer service on PA recovery or action required on orders that are unallocated at time of order and communicate any risk to service or production issues to assigned brands.

Drive Production plan by utilizing and maintaining MP/SNP planning tool to develop rolling weekly production and inventory plans at the Sku and line level to ensure delivery of customer service goals while minimizing operating costs and inventory.

Create timely accurate product and line data in the MP/SNP planning system to ensure the development of low cost and feasible schedules on a weekly basis.

Generate timely stock transport orders Orders to deploy inventory from assigned plant and copacker lines to other locations within assigned area of responsibility as defined by Division planner assignments (SNP Planner)

Adjust, on a daily/weekly basis, current week schedules as required based on current situation, sales, downtime, materials, outputs, etc.

Develop seasonal run strategies to effectively address manpower planning needs while ensuring achievement of service and turn objectives

Develop local inventory plans in support of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and track performance and develop corrective action plans as appropriate.

Manage discontinued products, formula and or packaging changes to minimize risk to the business and scrap.

Monitor aging inventory and provide direction to avoid risk and write off. Notify site of any non-compliance to FIFO policy

Ensure effective and timely launch of innovation and promotional activities by collaborating with Supply Chain Managers, R&D, Engineering, etc. to manage plant schedules to accommodate periodic plant tests.

Monitor Safety Stock levels and make recommendations to the ISCP team to adjust SAP SS levels for planning tools

Collaborate closely with Planning Manager, TCP Planning and other planners to adjust production plans as necessary to ensure cost effective responses to short term demand spikes. Develop potential production alternatives to improve longer term sourcing costs .

Education and Certifications:

4 year degree

MS office proficient

SAP experience a plus
