The Director, Client Analytics & Support is responsible for managing daily operations of various levels of staff and functions in the Consumer Solutions Group (CSG) Analytics organization. The individual in this position serves as a liaison with Account Management teams to identify client analytic needs and translate client these needs into analytic solutions. This director provides leadership to and is accountable for the performance of their staff, which research and investigate client business problems through quantitative analyses of utilization and healthcare data. 




 


The Director will also be responsible for managing on boarding and training of new and existing staff to support client growth. 


 




Primary Responsibilities:


 




  • Solving unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business 



  • Leading and managing large complex projects within the team or across teams 



  • Implementing and communicating needed changes in processes to drive efficiency and effectiveness 



  • Driving improvements in processes, procedures, and workflow of the team 



  • Working with senior leaders to ensure resources are available to deliver on customer commitments 



  • Clearly and concisely communicating client satisfaction updates to leadership including possible issues or signs of client dis-satisfaction and mitigation steps to repair client satisfaction 



  • Training team members on basic skill sets necessary to collate and produce analysis from various sources 



  • Working with team leads to ensure that data is gathered, recorded and stored in such a way that analysis can be done in the simplest and most time efficient manner 



  • Supporting team members to stay focused on blue chip priorities while managing work life balance 


This is a great opportunity to work collaboratively with Optum Senior Leaders across and build relationships with key product and operational leaders within CSG and across Optum.


 

Requirements


Required Qualifications:




  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience  



  • Demonstrated expertise in data analysis and analytic methodology and is able to coach others regarding these methods 



  • 7+ year of data analysis experience to include SAS-EG 



  • 3+ years people and team management and leadership skills 



  • Ability to maintain composure and professionalism, and bring logical, pragmatic options and approaches to the table when working with demanding client executives 



  • Ability to work across a complex, changing environment to meet changing business and client needs Individual must be able to easily multi task without letting changing priorities impact job performance. 



  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities across complex projects 



  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, presenting complex information across all audiences 



  • Management experience with a proven track record 



  • Intermediate to Advanced skills with MS Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint




Preferred Qualifications:  




  • Strong knowledge of the medical and health insurance industry 



  • Experience with Health Plan Manager 



  • ISO background 



  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt experience 



  • Masters/Bachelor Degree
