JOB TITLE: Lead Warehouse Technician
DEPARTMENT: Operation
REPORTS TO: Warehouse Manager/Director of Operations
GENERAL PURPOSE:
Under the direction of the Warehouse Manager, receives, pulls, and cleans merchandise as appropriate; assists customers in receiving merchandise; keeps inventory of merchandise as necessary. Trains new and existing employees. Oversees the warehouse operation in the absence of the Supervisor and reports required information.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
LEADERSHIP
Duties: Responsible for warehouse team needs in the absence of the Supervisor or Manager. Trains new employees specifically on warehouse policies and procedures. Conducts required in-services as directed.
INVENTORY
CONTROL
Duties: Properly and quickly pulls correct merchandise from shelves as needed. Correctly and quickly completes inventory count sheets to include manufacturer's name, exact model number, unit of measure, product description, exact count, dealer cost, exact location of item.
SAFETY
Duties: Keeps warehouse safe and clean.
CUSTOMER
SERVICE
Duties: Assists customers with merchandise as needed.
SHIPPING
RECEIVING
Duties: Moves merchandise from receiving area to storage areas showroom floor, and/or delivery vehicles. Places items pulled and matches with invoice, inter-store transfer requests, or purchase orders into an appropriately sized box and properly pack and seal the box. Properly enters delivery data into UPS computer, places box to be shipped on scale, attaches UPS label onto box, and puts box in UPS pick-up area and/or UPS trailer. Loads and unloads delivery vehicles (company owned, shipments received from manufacturers, customer's vehicles). Checks all merchandise received for externally visible damage before accepting shipment.
REFUSES MERCHANDISE
Duties: If merchandise is visibly damaged, contacts manufacturer and refuses merchandise. If damaged merchandise is accepted, notes on packing slip and delivery driver's bill of lading. Verifies items received (model number and quantity) with actual shipment received, packing slips enclosed, and ordering document. Logs in merchandise received by date received, manufacturer, and ordering document number. Advises purchasing and accounts payable of merchandise receipt (sends pink PO to purchasing and packing slip to accounts payable) with notations of any problems encountered. Identifies and solves problems (wrong items shipped, wrong quantities received, packing slip does not match shipment, damaged items received, etc). Prices merchandise using purchase order as a guide

Physical & Sensory Requirements (with/without the aide of physical devices):
Mobility, reaching, bending, lifting, talking, fingering, sitting, carrying, standing, grasping, fine hand coordination, ability to hear, ability to read and write, and the ability to multi-task. Lifts and carries up to 70 pounds.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must be high school graduate or equivalent.
· Must have prior warehouse experience.
· Must have prior forklift operations experience.
· Must be observant and be able to differentiate between multiple outwardly similar items which are, in fact, unique.
· Must be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
· Must possess knowledge of computers and their applications (Microsoft Office preferred).
· Must be understanding and discreet. Must demonstrate appropriate interpersonal skills with customers who are physically and/or mentally impaired.
· Must have a current, valid driver's license and a good driving record.
· Must be able to relate professionally and positively to corporate staff and to work cooperatively with other associates at all levels.
· Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.
· Must meet all local health regulations, pass post-offer drug test and pass post-employment physical exam if required.
· Must be capable of performing the essential functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
